CUL1 (Cullin-1) functions as a scaffold protein within the SCF (Skp1-Cullin1-F-box) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, a critical regulator of cell cycle progression that targets substrates such as p21 and p27 for ubiquitin-mediated degradation.
