The antibody targets CUG-BP1 (also known as CELF1 or CUGBP1), a multifunctional RNA-binding protein that regulates pre-mRNA alternative splicing, mRNA stability, translation, and deadenylation. CELF1 binds AU-rich elements and CUG repeat sequences and is most studied for its aberrant activity in myotonic dystrophy type 1, where expanded CUG repeats in the DMPK transcript sequester MBNL1 and elevate CELF1 levels, disrupting normal splicing patterns in skeletal muscle, cardiac, and other tissues. The protein also contributes to early embryonic development, T-cell signaling, and germ-cell maturation.
From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against the CUG-BP1 target and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum suitable for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows. Reactivity has been demonstrated against human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies in neuromuscular disease models, stem-cell biology, and RNA-processing mechanisms. Store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw damage, and protect from light. For research use only.
