Anti-CTSL1 Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com and distributed through AFMS, this affinity-purified reagent is raised in rabbit and specifically recognizes endogenous Cathepsin L1 (CTSL1), a lysosomal cysteine protease of the peptidase C1 family that mediates intracellular protein catabolism of substrates such as collagen and elastin. The antiserum was generated against a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human CTSL1 and is supplied as a polyclonal IgG at 1 mg/ml in a 50 µl volume of phosphate-buffered saline (pH ~7.2) containing 15 mM sodium azide as a preservative. Validation has been carried out in Western blot (WB), with recommended working dilutions of 1:500–1:1000, and the antibody detects the expected CTSL1 band of approximately 38–43 kDa in human, mouse and rat samples. Purity exceeds 95% as judged by SDS-PAGE after affinity-chromatography on the epitope-specific immunogen, and the reagent is unconjugated, making it suitable for standard immunodetection workflows. For best stability, the vial should be stored at 4 °C for short-term use and aliquoted for long-term storage at –20 °C, with repeated freeze–thaw cycles avoided. Representative applications reported for this clone include Western blot analysis of whole-cell lysates from HEK293T, PC12, A549, HepG2 and U-87 MG, where a single band at the predicted molecular weight confirms antibody specificity.
