Cathepsin K (CTSK) is a lysosomal cysteine protease most active in osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, and it is increasingly investigated in osteoporosis, arthritic joint destruction, atherosclerotic plaque biology, and breast cancer bone-metastasis research. The Antibodies.com Anti-CTSK reagent is a rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against this protease, supplied unconjugated so laboratories can pair it with their preferred secondary detection chemistry.

Each 100 µl vial supports Western blot detection of CTSK in mouse and rat tissue lysates, as well as immunohistochemistry localization of cathepsin K-positive osteoclasts on bone sections. The polyclonal format offers broad epitope coverage, which is helpful when probing either the ~37 kDa pro-form or its processed mature chains on membranes, and when working with fixed paraffin-embedded samples where antigen masking can vary. Species testing confirms reactivity with Mouse, Rat, and Duck samples, enabling comparative work across mammalian bone-remodeling models and avian developmental systems.

Briefly centrifuge before opening, aliquot on first use, and refrigerate; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to maintain antibody titer across long studies. Intended for research use only.
