Lysosomal cysteine proteases of the papain-like C1 family, including Cathepsin F (CTSF), play central roles in protein turnover within acidic endosomal compartments and have been linked to antigen processing, extracellular matrix remodeling, and tumor invasion pathways. The rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent distributed by Antibodies.com detects the endogenous human target and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry workflows. Researchers have applied CTSF profiling to study Type B Kufs disease, where loss-of-function mutations in the gene underlie neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, as well as macrophage-driven and tumor microenvironment models of protease activity. Supplied as 200 µl of unconjugated antibody in a single-use vial, the format suits both fixed-tissue IHC staining and cell-lysate immunoblotting for research use only.
