Anti-CTSC Antibody

Polyclonal rabbit antibody from Antibodies.com raised against human Cathepsin C (CTSC), also called dipeptidyl peptidase I. Validated for Western blot detection of this lysosomal cysteine protease, the reagent cross-reacts with mouse and rat CTSC orthologues, making it useful for comparative inflammation, neutrophil biology, and bone-remodeling studies.

Cathepsin C catalyzes the activating cleavage of granule-associated serine proteases, including neutrophil elastase, cathepsin G, and the granzymes stored in cytotoxic T lymphocytes and NK cells. The antibody is therefore widely used to monitor zymogen processing in immune cell lysates and tissue extracts. Loss-of-function mutations in CTSC are linked to Papillon-Lefevre syndrome and Haim-Munk syndrome, both presenting with early-onset periodontitis and palmoplantar hyperkeratosis, supporting research into periodontal disease, dermatology, and inherited immunodeficiency.

Shipped as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.2) with 15 mM sodium azide added as a preservative, the antibody is supplied ready to dilute into standard immunoblotting workflows.
