CTSA encodes cathepsin A, a lysosomal serine carboxypeptidase that protects beta-galactosidase and neuraminidase from premature proteolytic degradation in the lysosome. Loss-of-function mutations in this gene cause galactosialidosis, a rare lysosomal storage disorder, so the protein is widely followed in studies of glycosidase stability and disease mechanism. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody in a vial, ready to be applied directly to western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. The antibody is reactive against human CTSA and is intended for research use only. For best results, aliquot on first use and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity.
