The polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets cystinosin (CTNS), a lysosomal membrane transporter responsible for exporting cystine out of the lysosome. Loss-of-function mutations in CTNS cause cystinosis, a lysosomal storage disorder characterized by progressive cystine crystal accumulation in tissues including kidney proximal tubules, cornea, thyroid, and muscle. Researchers working on nephropathic cystinosis, Fanconi syndrome, and lysosomal biogenesis use this reagent to monitor cystinosin expression by Western blot, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody supports standard immunodetection workflows. The antibody recognizes endogenous cystinosin, enabling subcellular localization studies in fixed tissue sections and cultured cells, as well as expression profiling of CTNS variants associated with infantile and juvenile-onset cystinosis. For chromogenic or fluorescent readouts, pair with an appropriate HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibody matched to the rabbit host.
