Produced in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal IgG, this primary antibody targets CTNNBIP1, the catenin beta interacting protein 1 (also known as ICAT) that occupies the armadillo-repeat region of β-catenin and blocks its interaction with TCF/LEF transcription factors. By holding β-catenin in check, ICAT is a key negative regulator of canonical Wnt signaling, and the reagent is intended for western blot analysis of the endogenous human and mouse protein in cell lysates and tissue homogenates.

The 50 µl volume is supplied unconjugated, so end users can pair it with HRP-, alkaline phosphatase-, or fluorophore-tagged secondary reagents depending on whether chemiluminescent film, digital CCD, or multiplex fluorescent western blot imaging is preferred. Polyclonal reactivity offers multi-epitope coverage useful when probing for truncated splice forms or when comparing CTNNBIP1 levels across developmental time courses, stem cell differentiation stages, or cancer cell line panels where Wnt pathway output is being mapped. Researchers investigating gastric, colorectal, or hepatocellular carcinoma, as well as developmental patterning and neural stem cell biology, will find this reagent relevant for tracking CTNNBIP1 expression alongside β-catenin, Axin, GSK-3β, and other Wnt component readouts. From Antibodies.com, the antibody is intended for research use only.
