Among the polyclonal reagents raised against β-catenin, this unconjugated rabbit IgG preparation from Antibodies.com is calibrated for three core readouts: Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat specimens. The antibody recognizes CTNNB1, the 781-residue armadillo-repeat scaffolding protein that tethers E-cadherin to α-catenin at adherens junctions and, when the destruction complex is inhibited by Wnt signaling, accumulates in the cytosol and nucleus to partner with TCF/LEF factors on Wnt target promoters.
Investigators studying colorectal carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma use it to track tumor β-catenin stabilization and nuclear translocation, while developmental biology labs apply it to map Wnt-dependent patterning in embryonic sections. The 200 µl volume arrives unconjugated, ready for HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary detection, and should be aliquoted upon arrival and stored frozen to protect the polyclonal pool from repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
