The CTNNA1 protein, also called α-E-catenin, anchors the E-cadherin/β-catenin adhesion complex to the actin cytoskeleton at epithelial adherens junctions, and loss of its function is a hallmark of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition that underlies tumor invasion. Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent, this unconjugated primary antibody detects endogenous CTNNA1 in human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. Researchers use it to probe junctional integrity in epithelial tissues, to characterize E-cadherin/catenin signaling in diffuse gastric and breast carcinoma models, and to follow α-catenin redistribution during cadherin-mediated adhesion assays. Each vial contains 100 µL of antiserum suitable for immunoblotting of cell lysates and IHC staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, supplied by Antibodies.com.
