CTH (cystathionine gamma-lyase) is a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the final step in the transsulfuration pathway, generating endogenous hydrogen sulfide alongside cysteine, ammonia, and α-ketobutyrate. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples.
Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated 100 µl volume supports flexible protocol design, including custom biotin, HRP, or fluorophore conjugation for downstream detection. The polyclonal format presents multiple epitope specificities, broadening recognition across tissue contexts where isoform expression or post-translational modification may vary.
Investigators working in cardiovascular H2S signaling, hepatic methionine metabolism, neuronal cystathionine handling, and renal sulfur biochemistry use anti-CTH reagents to localize enzyme distribution and quantify abundance in cultured cells and fixed tissue sections.
