Anti-CTGF Antibody

Raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to internal residues of human connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), this affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects endogenous levels of total CTGF protein across human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated antiserum is supplied at 1.7 mg/mL in PBS (pH 7.3) containing 0.05% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, as a 100 µl aliquot for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows.

In Western blot validation, 40 µg of HeLa lysate resolved on an 8% SDS-PAGE gel produced a clear band at a 1/850 primary antibody dilution, with a goat anti-rabbit HRP secondary at 1/8000 and a 1 minute exposure. For immunohistochemistry, paraffin-embedded human cervical cancer sections stained cleanly at a 1/50 dilution, demonstrating reactivity in tumor-stroma and fibrosis tissue studies.

Because the antibody is polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes on the CCN family matricellular protein, which can aid detection of partially processed fragments and low-abundance targets in fibrotic remodeling, angiogenesis, wound healing, and tumor microenvironment research.
