Anti-CTGF Antibody

CTGF (Connective Tissue Growth Factor, also called CCN2) is a secreted matricellular protein central to TGF-β-driven fibrosis, wound healing, and extracellular matrix remodeling. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent targets the human CTGF protein and has been validated for Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry workflows against Human and Rat samples, enabling translational work between rodent disease models and human tissue specimens.

Supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of rabbit polyclonal antibody at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% Glycerol, the product is ready to dilute directly into assay buffer. Sodium azide acts as a bacteriostatic preservative; aliquotting on first use protects the stock from repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserves reactivity. The unconjugated format allows in-house conjugation to HRP, biotin, or fluorophore reporters depending on the chosen detection chemistry.

For Western Blot, lysate from TGF-β-stimulated fibroblasts or fibrotic tissue serves as a standard positive control. For IHC, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections of kidney, lung, or scar tissue reveal the perivascular and interstitial CTGF distribution associated with chronic fibrotic disease.
