Anti-CTCFL Antibody

CTCFL (also known as BORIS, Brother of the Regulator of Imprinted Sites) is a zinc finger DNA-binding protein and paralog of CTCF that contributes to chromatin organization, imprinting control, and transcriptional regulation. This unconjugated polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Provided by Antibodies.com, the reagent is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock prepared in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. The glycerol-supplemented buffer allows the antibody to be stored at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, with short-term storage at 4°C suitable for ongoing experiments. Investigators commonly apply it to examine CTCFL expression during normal spermatogenesis and germ cell development, and to characterize aberrant BORIS reactivation in cancer cell lines and tumor tissue. It is also used in chromatin biology studies probing the relationship between CTCF and CTCFL occupancy at imprinting control regions and tumor-associated promoters.

Each vial is intended for research use only and supports detection of endogenous CTCFL in whole-cell lysates, formalin-fixed tissue sections, and cultured cells. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the target protein, which can be advantageous when probing samples where epitope masking or fixation-induced modification is a concern.
