This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF), an 11-zinc-finger DNA-binding protein best known for its role in vertebrate chromatin architecture. CTCF anchors chromatin loops and topologically associating domains, acts as an insulator at boundary elements, and influences imprinting and X-chromosome inactivation. Researchers in 3D genome organization, enhancer–promoter contacts, and epigenetic regulation rely on CTCF immunodetection to demarcate insulator regions across the nuclear landscape.
Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human and mouse samples, supporting cross-species studies of transcription factor distribution. The 100 µl volume is sufficient for multiple immunoblots and staining panels, with no secondary conjugate pre-attached, so laboratories can pair it with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-labeled secondaries of their choice.
