Anti-CST2 Antibody

Produced in rabbit and offered by Antibodies.com, this polyclonal IgG reagent targets Cystatin SA (CST2), a type-2 cysteine protease inhibitor secreted into saliva, tears, and seminal fluid. The unconjugated antiserum is supplied at 100 µl and is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence applications, with cross-reactivity confirmed against both human and mouse CST2.

CST2 is one of the type-2 cystatin family members that modulate cysteine cathepsin activity, and altered expression has been investigated in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma as well as in inflammatory and infectious contexts. The antibody enables detection of endogenous CST2 in cell lysates by immunoblotting and maps CST2 subcellular distribution in fixed cells and tissue sections by immunofluorescence. For handling, the reagent should be stored refrigerated at 4 °C; for projects lasting weeks or longer, aliquot the antibody and freeze at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles that can compromise IgG binding activity.
