Raised in rabbit against the alpha subunit of the human GM-CSF receptor, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes CSF2RA (also called CD116 or GM-CSFRα), the high-affinity cytokine-binding chain that pairs with the common beta subunit (CSF2RB) to assemble functional receptors for GM-CSF, IL-3, and IL-5. It is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples and is supplied unconjugated, allowing flexible secondary antibody choice for chromogenic or fluorescence detection workflows.

The antibody is provided as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a cryoprotective formulation that supports storage at -20 °C with limited freeze-thaw cycles. Working aliquots should be refrigerated and protected from light during routine use, while the sodium azide acts as a microbial preservative for the liquid reagent.

CSF2RA is a type I transmembrane protein encoded on the X chromosome and pseudoautosomal region, expressed on myeloid progenitors, monocytes, neutrophils, eosinophil precursors, and alveolar macrophages. Through coupled JAK2/STAT5 signaling, the receptor governs survival, proliferation, and maturation of hematopoietic cells. Investigators apply the antibody to characterize cytokine receptor expression on myeloid infiltrates within tumor sections, profile inflammatory lung tissue, and study loss-of-function receptor variants associated with hereditary pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
