CRYGD (Crystallin Gamma D) belongs to the γ-crystallin family of structural proteins that maintain transparency and refractive properties of the vertebrate eye lens. Mutations in CRYGD are linked to several autosomal dominant congenital cataract phenotypes, including Coppock-like cataract and aculeiform cataract, making the protein a focal point in ophthalmic and vision research.
This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications and cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting comparative studies across model organisms. Provided as 100 µl of ready-to-use antibody in a single vial, it supports detection of endogenous CRYGD expression in lens tissue lysates, paraffin-embedded ocular sections, and recombinant crystallin preparations used in protein aggregation and chaperone function studies.
Recommended storage at -20°C in working aliquots helps preserve reactivity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles. For research use only.
