The Anti-CRYAA Antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against alpha-A crystallin, a ~20 kDa small heat-shock protein that maintains lens transparency and acts as a molecular chaperone under cellular stress. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated preparation is provided as a 100 µl vial suitable for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.

The antibody detects endogenous CRYAA in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of cataractogenesis, lens development, oxidative stress responses, and non-lens expression in cardiac and neural tissues. As a polyclonal reagent, it binds multiple epitopes across the crystallin sequence, which can improve signal recovery in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections where antigen masking is common.

Researchers working on protein aggregation, chaperone biology, or age-related lens opacities will find this reagent useful for denaturing gels, fixed-tissue imaging, and subcellular localization. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol-containing buffer.
