CRY1 (Cryptochrome 1) is a blue-light-sensitive flavoprotein that serves as a core repressor in the mammalian circadian clock transcription-translation feedback loop. Structurally related to DNA photolyases, CRY1 retains flavin-adenine dinucleotide (FAD) binding but lacks catalytic repair activity, instead acting through protein-protein interactions with PER1, PER2, and the CLOCK/ARNTL complex to suppress clock gene transcription. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and selectively recognizes human CRY1, supporting research into sleep-wake biology, jet lag, shift-work adaptation, and the cellular response to DNA damage. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG in a vial, validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry. It is intended for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic applications.
