CROT (Carnitine O-Octanoyltransferase) is a peroxisomal matrix enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of medium- and short-chain acyl groups from CoA to carnitine, supporting peroxisomal fatty acid β-oxidation and lipid metabolism research. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and is supplied as an unconjugated preparation in a 100 µl vial, intended for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human and mouse samples.
As a primary antibody, the product can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents to detect endogenous CROT in tissue sections and cell lysates. Polyclonal recognition increases the chance of binding multiple epitopes on the target protein, which is useful for confirming band identity at the expected molecular weight during western blot validation. The format is single-use aliquot friendly, and the vial should be stored refrigerated and protected from light to preserve activity across downstream western blot and immunohistochemistry experiments performed for research use only.
