CREB (cAMP response element-binding protein) is a transcription factor whose activity is gated by phosphorylation at serine 133 through kinases including PKA, CaMKII, and Akt. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com selectively recognizes the phosphorylated form of CREB at S133 and serves as a marker for cAMP/PKA pathway activity, neuronal signaling, and activity-dependent gene expression studies.
Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl vial, the unconjugated reagent is validated for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) applications on human samples. Researchers apply this antibody to investigate CREB-mediated transcriptional regulation in synaptic plasticity, learning and memory, cellular stress responses, and oncogenic signaling pathways where dysregulated CREB activity has been implicated.
