Antibodies.com offers a rabbit polyclonal primary antibody raised against Creatine kinase M-type (CKM), the muscle-specific isoform of creatine kinase that catalyzes reversible phosphoryl transfer between ATP and phosphocreatine to buffer cellular energy demand in skeletal muscle. Raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated at 100 µg per vial, this reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples and is intended for research use only.

CKM is encoded on chromosome 19q13 and serves as a sensitive marker of skeletal muscle injury, regeneration, and rhabdomyolysis. Because the M-type subunit predominates in mature myofibers while co-expressed with the B-type subunit during muscle regeneration, the antibody is widely used in studies of myogenesis, muscular dystrophy, exercise physiology, and tissue sourcing. In immunohistochemistry, it can be applied to cryosections or formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded biopsies to localize the protein within the sarcomere.

For handling, researchers should aliquot the antibody upon arrival and store the vial at -20°C in working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles, preserving reagent activity across extended experimental timelines.
