CPT2 (Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase 2) is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial enzyme anchored to the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it catalyzes the conversion of long-chain acyl-CoA substrates to acylcarnitine for import into the mitochondrial matrix during fatty acid β-oxidation.
