Raised in rabbit against the carboxypeptidase N catalytic chain (CPN1), this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is unconjugated and supplied as 200 µl of liquid antibody. CPN1 is a zinc-dependent plasma metalloprotease, primarily synthesized by hepatocytes, that removes C-terminal arginine and lysine residues from circulating peptide substrates such as bradykinin, complement anaphylatoxins, and fibrinopeptides. Reported CPN1 deficiency states have been linked to hereditary angioedema, which is why sensitive immunodetection of the enzyme remains an active need in vascular and complement biology research.

Indicated by the supplier for Western blot on human and mouse samples, the antibody offers a single reagent for cross-species immunoblotting of endogenous CPN1 in liver tissue, recombinant expression systems, and conditioned medium from transfected cells. Because it is supplied unconjugated, it pairs with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies and is compatible with chemiluminescent as well as fluorescent detection workflows. The 200 µl pack size is sufficient for dozens of blots depending on working dilution and membrane dimensions.
