This rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com targets Complexin-1 (CPLX1), a small (~15 kDa) presynaptic cytoplasmic regulator of SNARE-mediated synaptic vesicle fusion. CPLX1 is expressed primarily in inhibitory neurons of the central nervous system, where it fine-tunes the calcium-triggered release of GABA and glycine, and genetic ablation in mice produces severe ataxia and sensorimotor impairment. The reagent is supplied as a 100 µL liquid aliquot of unconjugated antiserum, raised in rabbit, and validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on mouse tissue. For long-term stability, the antibody should be stored at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the polyclonal reagent. Researchers investigating synaptic transmission, neuronal development, or mouse models of neurodegeneration can use this reagent to probe endogenous Complexin-1 in brain lysates and fixed sections.
