Cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2), the calcium-dependent Group IVA phospholipase encoded by PLA2G4A, is the enzyme that liberates arachidonic acid from membrane phospholipids at the sn-2 position, initiating eicosanoid and prostaglandin biosynthesis. Antibodies.com supplies this rabbit polyclonal antibody as an affinity-purified IgG fraction raised against a synthetic peptide derived from the N-terminal region of human cPLA2, and the reagent detects endogenous levels of cPLA2 protein across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in a 100 µl volume, the antibody is formulated in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide and is validated for western blot, ELISA, immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) and immunohistochemistry. Researchers investigating inflammatory lipid signaling, membrane remodeling, and tumor-associated eicosanoid pathways have used the reagent to monitor expression and phosphorylation status in cell culture lysates and tissue sections.

The vial is shipped at 4°C; upon receipt it should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C for long-term stability, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided. Protect from light. For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
