The primary antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against Carboxypeptidase E (CPE), a zinc-dependent metallocarboxypeptidase involved in prohormone processing and peptide hormone biosynthesis within neuroendocrine tissues. Supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated antiserum in a 100 µL volume, it is validated for western blot (WB) and ELISA detection across human, mouse, and rat samples. The polyclonal format raises the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes on the mature CPE enzyme and on its precursor forms, which is useful for studies of neuropeptide maturation, pancreatic islet biology, and regulated secretory pathways in endocrine cell models. Each vial is intended for research use only and should be aliquoted on first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles; storage at -20°C or colder in working aliquots preserves antibody activity for ongoing western blot and ELISA workflows targeting endogenous CPE levels in tissue lysates and cell culture extracts.
