The CPB1 gene encodes Carboxypeptidase B1, a zinc-dependent pancreatic exopeptidase that cleaves C-terminal arginine and lysine residues during protein digestion. This unconjugated IgG polyclonal antibody is raised in Rabbit and recognizes the human CPB1 protein, making it well suited for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry workflows.

Antibodies.com supplies this reagent as a 200 µL liquid vial, providing ample volume for multiple experimental setups. The polyclonal formulation offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, which is often advantageous when detecting endogenous CPB1 expression in tissue lysates or cell preparations.

Carboxypeptidase B1 is synthesized by pancreatic acinar cells as the inactive zymogen procarboxypeptidase B and becomes activated by trypsin in the duodenum. Research applications include studies of pancreatic enzyme processing, digestive physiology, and investigations of pancreatic inflammation or exocrine function. The antibody has been validated for use on human samples including pancreatic tissue sections, cultured cell lines, and protein extracts.

For storage, keep the vial refrigerated and protect from light to preserve antibody activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by preparing working aliquots. The unconjugated format allows researchers to pair the antibody with their preferred secondary detection reagent, dye, or label, supporting flexibility across diverse imaging and immunodetection experiments.
