Description

From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antibody is raised against COX7B and validated for Western blot (WB) applications. It is unconjugated and reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples. The antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human COX7B and detects endogenous levels of the COX7B protein.

The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.3. It has been affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen, with purity greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. The target COX7B has a molecular weight of approximately 9 kDa, and the antibody is of the IgG isotype.

COX7B (cytochrome c oxidase subunit VIIb polypeptide) is an 80 amino acid protein that functions as a component of the cytochrome c oxidase (COX) complex. The COX family serves as the final electron donor in the respiratory chain, driving a proton gradient across the inner mitochondrial membrane to produce water and ATP. The mammalian COX apoenzyme is a dimer, with each monomer consisting of 13 subunits, some mitochondrial and some nuclear. COX7B exists as a component of the COX complex, where it plays an important role in electron transport.
