COX5A (cytochrome c oxidase subunit 5A) is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial polypeptide that contributes to the assembly and catalytic function of Complex IV of the electron transport chain. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against COX5A and is supplied as 100 µL of antibody at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2.
Validated reactivity spans human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing the antibody to be applied in comparative mitochondrial studies and across multiple model systems relevant to oxidative phosphorylation and metabolic research. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on COX5A, supporting detection in denatured lysates by western blot (WB) as well as in fixed tissue sections by immunohistochemistry (IHC). Brief centrifugation before aliquoting helps recover solution from the vial, and the reagent is intended for research use only.
