The COX4I1 target (Cytochrome c oxidase subunit 4 isoform 1) is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial protein that forms part of complex IV, the terminal oxidase of the electron transport chain. Antibodies.com supplies this rabbit polyclonal reagent for laboratories investigating mitochondrial biogenesis, oxidative phosphorylation, and apoptosis pathways.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, and flow cytometry, this unconjugated IgG antibody recognizes human, mouse, and rat COX4I1. The 100 µl volume is well suited to multi-application projects, where COX4I1 is commonly paired with cytoplasmic or nuclear markers to assess subcellular localization, or used alongside other mitochondrial proteins such as TOM20, VDAC1, or HSP60 to normalize mitochondrial content in lysate preparations.

Because COX4I1 levels remain relatively stable across many experimental conditions, it is frequently employed as a mitochondrial loading control in Western blot normalization, complementing cytoskeletal markers like β-actin or GAPDH. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the target, which can be advantageous for capturing the protein in IP workflows and for detecting conformational variants.

This research-use-only reagent is intended for laboratory investigation of mitochondrial function, metabolic disease models, neurodegeneration studies, and cancer metabolism research.
