Anti-COX4 (5B9) Antibody

Offered under the Antibodies.com catalog, this is a mouse monoclonal primary antibody raised against COX4 (cytochrome c oxidase subunit 4, mitochondrial), raised using clone 5B9 and supplied as 50 µL of purified IgG in a buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl with 0.2% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, suitable for Western blot detection of the ~20 kDa COX4 protein in human, mouse and rat samples. The unconjugated antibody is validated for WB applications at working dilutions around 1:500–1:2000 and is affinity-purified from mouse ascites to ~95% purity by SDS-PAGE, with the recombinant full-length human COX4 used as the immunogen. For short-term storage the vial should be kept refrigerated at 2–8 °C for up to two weeks, and for longer-term storage it should be aliquoted and frozen at –20 °C to prevent repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Intended for research use only, this reagent is commonly deployed as a mitochondrial loading control alongside other organelle or housekeeping markers in cell lysate and tissue homogenate workflows.
