Rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against cytochrome c oxidase copper chaperone COX17, supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated, affinity-purified reagent in a 100 µl vial for research use only. The antibody targets a conserved region of COX17, the small metallochaperone that delivers copper ions to the COX1 and COX2 subunits of mitochondrial complex IV during respiratory chain assembly. Listed applications include Western blot (WB) on lysates of human, mouse, and rat origin, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, supporting studies of mitochondrial biogenesis and copper homeostasis in normal and disease models.

Investigators working on cytochrome c oxidase deficiency, mitochondrial disorders, or tumor metabolism use this reagent to monitor COX17 steady-state levels in cultured cells and in tissue, often pairing it with subcellular fractionation to confirm mitochondrial enrichment. For Western blotting, dilute the antibody in blocking buffer, incubate overnight at 4 °C, and detect with a standard HRP-conjugated secondary; for IHC, antigen retrieval in 10 mM citrate buffer at pH 6.0 is generally effective. Store the vial at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and minimize light exposure when handling. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with custom reporter labels, and the polyclonal design provides recognition of multiple epitopes for robust signal across orthologs.
