Anti-Cortactin (Ab-466) Antibody

Generated in rabbit and affinity-purified against a synthetic peptide spanning residue 466 of human cortactin, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the Src-family kinase-targeted tyrosine-466 region of this actin-bundling protein that controls lamellipodia protrusion, invadopodia maturation, and directed cell migration.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG, the antibody has been validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse specimens. On immunoblots it labels the characteristic ~80–85 kDa cortactin band, and on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections it produces a cytoplasmic and membrane-proximal staining pattern consistent with cortactin localization at sites of dynamic actin reorganization. Vials are shipped refrigerated and should be aliquoted into single-use portions for storage at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw cycling of the polyclonal preparation.
