The COP9 signalosome subunit 6 (COPS6), alternatively called CSN6, is the approximately 36 kDa subunit of the eight-subunit COP9 signalosome (CSN) complex. CSN functions as a metalloprotease that removes the ubiquitin-like modifier NEDD8 from cullin-RING ligases, and COPS6 contributes to complex stability and substrate recognition.
