Anti-Connexin 43 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified by epitope-specific immunogen chromatography, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is designed to detect endogenous levels of total Connexin 43 (also known as Cx43, Gap junction alpha-1 protein, GJA1, and Gap junction 43 kDa heart protein). The immunogen is a synthesized peptide derived from the human Connexin 43 sequence, and the antibody is supplied as a 50 µl aliquot at a working concentration of 1.0 mg/mL. It is formulated as Rabbit IgG in phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺), pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, and is unconjugated, allowing users to couple it to their preferred reporter. Validated applications include Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), making it a versatile tool for studies of gap junction communication in cultured cells and tissue sections. The reagent has been verified to react with human, mouse, and rat samples, which is consistent with the high degree of evolutionary conservation of this major cardiac and epithelial gap junction protein.
