Anti-COIL Antibody

Cajal bodies are subnuclear compartments that act as assembly hubs for snRNPs and small Cajal body-specific RNAs. Coilin recruits factors responsible for snRNP biogenesis and for histone mRNA 3'-end processing, and it appears as a characteristic punctate nuclear signal in immunofluorescence that researchers use to count and position Cajal bodies within the nucleus. Western blot detection resolves a band near the expected molecular weight of the protein.
