Calponin 3 (CNN3) is an actin filament-associated regulatory protein expressed across many human tissue types, where it contributes to cytoskeletal remodeling, cell migration, and intracellular signal transduction. Studies of CNN3 biology often focus on smooth muscle contractility, fibroblast mechanics, hepatocellular and gastric carcinoma progression, and pulmonary fibrotic remodeling, so well-characterized antibodies are needed to localize and quantify the protein in fixed and lysed specimens.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than a typical monoclonal, supporting detection of full-length CNN3 as well as potential isoforms or proteolytic fragments that appear in certain tumor and fibrosis models. In IHC, the antibody can be paired with HRP- or biotin-conjugated secondary reagents for chromogenic visualization of CNN3 distribution in paraffin-embedded tissue sections, while Western blot applications benefit from the polyclonal pool when probing denatured target in cell or tissue lysates.

Practical handling notes: aliquot upon first thaw to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and store refrigerated for short-term use; long-term stability is best maintained at -20 °C or below, protected from light. The reagent is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
