Raised in rabbit against CNDP1 (carnosinase-1), this polyclonal antibody detects the cytoplasmic dipeptidase that hydrolyses L-carnosine and related β-alanyl dipeptides. Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated reagent is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse and rat tissue. CNDP1 is expressed principally in kidney and serum, where it regulates circulating carnosine levels and has been linked to susceptibility loci for diabetic nephropathy, making this reagent useful for studies of renal physiology, diabetes research, and metallopeptidase biology. For handling, aliquot the glycerol stock into single-use tubes upon arrival and store frozen at -20 °C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the working vial to preserve immunoreactivity, and protect the solution from light during use.
