CMAS (CMP-N-acetylneuraminic acid synthetase) is a nuclear enzyme that catalyzes the activation of N-acetylneuraminic acid to CMP-sialic acid, a nucleotide sugar donor required for sialylation of glycoproteins and glycolipids. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the human CMAS target and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antisera for use in Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives and is validated for detection of the human protein. Store aliquots frozen at -20°C in working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light when handling downstream detection reagents. Researchers studying glycosylation pathways, sialic acid metabolism, congenital disorders of glycosylation, or cancer-associated changes in cell surface sialylation can apply this reagent to investigate CMAS expression and subcellular localization in cultured human cells and tissue sections.
