Clusterin (CLU) is a multifunctional secreted glycoprotein widely studied for its roles in apoptosis regulation, complement inhibition, lipid transport, and cellular stress response. This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody, supplied by Antibodies.com, was raised against CLU and is provided as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl vial format, ready for use in Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows.

The antibody recognizes clusterin in samples derived from human, mouse, and rat origin, supporting cross-species investigation of CLU expression in tissue lysates, cell culture preparations, and fixed cell samples. Researchers apply this reagent to probe clusterin involvement in neurodegeneration, tumor progression, oxidative stress, and renal or reproductive biology studies.

For Western blot, the antibody is incubated with whole-cell or tissue lysates separated by SDS-PAGE, allowing detection of the precursor and mature clusterin subunits on the membrane. In immunofluorescence, it enables visualization of endogenous clusterin distribution in cultured cells or cryosections when paired with fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies. The polyclonal clonality allows recognition of multiple epitopes, which can improve signal robustness across experimental conditions.

To preserve activity, refrigerate the antibody upon arrival and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting on first use. The unconjugated format gives investigators flexibility to pair the primary antibody with their preferred HRP, biotin, or fluorescent labels depending on the chosen detection platform. Each vial is intended for research use only and should be handled with standard laboratory precautions.
