Offered by Antibodies.com, this purified monoclonal antibody is raised in mouse against Clostridium difficile toxin A and is supplied at 1 mg in an unconjugated format for use in ELISA-based workflows. The reagent is a monoclonal IgG1 antibody that selectively recognizes C. difficile toxin A (TcdA) and does not cross-react with cholera subunit A, cholera toxin, Pseudomonas aeruginosa exotoxin A, or the heat-labile and pertussis-like toxins (H-LT, P-LT). Toxin A is a large ~308 kDa glucosyltransferase virulence factor that disrupts intestinal epithelial cell signaling and contributes to the inflammation, apoptosis, and pseudomembrane formation characteristic of C. difficile-associated colitis, making this reagent a useful tool for the detection of toxin A in research samples. The antibody is provided as a purified IgG1 monoclonal at 1 mg/ml concentration, unconjugated and free of BSA and azide, and is recommended for ELISA applications where coating or capture of the toxin is required. Store according to the manufacturer's instructions (typically refrigerated short-term and frozen in aliquots long-term) and avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to preserve activity. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
