Sourced from Antibodies.com, this mouse monoclonal IgG2a primary antibody is raised against Clostridium difficile toxin A and supplied as a Protein A–purified reagent in a 1 mg format at approximately 1 mg/mL for direct use in ELISA and immunofluorescence (IFA) assays. The unconjugated antibody reacts specifically with C. difficile Toxin A (also known as TcdA or ToxA), an ~308 kDa glucosyltransferase virulence factor released during antibiotic-associated colitis, and is reported not to cross-react with C. difficile Toxin B, Cholera toxin, Cholera subunit A, Pseudomonas aeruginosa exotoxin A, or the heat-labile enterotoxins H-LT and P-LT. The clone is produced in mouse and purified by Protein A chromatography, yielding a monoclonal IgG2a preparation suitable for detecting toxin A in bacterial culture samples and clinical/research specimens by ELISA and IFA. For best results, store the antibody refrigerated at 2–8 °C (short term) or frozen in working aliquots at –20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze–thaw cycles; the product is intended for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
