CLN6 is a multi-pass transmembrane protein localized primarily to the endoplasmic reticulum, encoded by the CLN6 gene on human chromosome 15q23. Loss-of-function mutations in this gene cause variant late-infantile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (vLINCL), a neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disorder that belongs to the neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCL/Batten disease) family. Polyclonal reagents raised against CLN6 allow laboratories to profile expression patterns, subcellular localization, and disease-associated changes in human tissue and cell models. The Antibodies.com reagent is an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples, supplied as 100 µl of liquid antiserum suitable for probing endogenous CLN6 levels in cell and tissue lysates as well as fixed sections. Investigators working on Batten disease, ER stress response, lysosomal trafficking, or neurodegeneration-related protein aggregation can use this antibody to map tissue-specific distribution and explore potential biomarker relevance in vLINCL research.
