Apoptosis research relies on detecting specific caspase-mediated cleavage events, and this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes the caspase-6-generated N-terminal fragment of Lamin A produced when aspartate 230 is cleaved during programmed cell death. Raised in rabbit, the reagent is supplied as 100 µl of an unconjugated antiserum at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. The antibody is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry applications and shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of nuclear envelope breakdown, laminopathy mechanisms, and caspase activity in cell death pathways. Because the epitope corresponds to the neo-C-terminus generated at D230, the reagent is not expected to detect full-length, intact Lamin A, making it a selective probe for cells undergoing apoptotic nuclear disassembly rather than a general nuclear envelope marker.
