Chloride voltage-gated channel 1 (CLCN1) is the skeletal muscle chloride channel whose loss-of-function mutations underlie myotonia congenita, and this rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com provides a specific reagent for probing that target in human samples. Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum, it is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows.
Because the reagent is polyclonal, it binds multiple epitopes on CLCN1, which is useful when probing denatured targets on western blot membranes as well as native epitopes preserved in fixed tissue sections. The unconjugated format gives researchers full flexibility to couple the antibody to their preferred reporter — HRP, biotin, or a fluorophore — depending on the detection chemistry of the assay.
For handling, aliquot the antibody upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store at -20 °C in a frost-free freezer; short-term storage at 4 °C is acceptable for working dilutions. This reagent is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
