Claudin-11 is a tetraspan tight junction protein best known for sealing the myelin lamellae of central nervous system oligodendrocytes and for forming the blood-testis barrier between adjacent Sertoli cells. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as an unconjugated reagent at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, with 100 µl per vial sufficient for dozens of western blot or immunostaining experiments depending on dilution.

Loss-of-function variants in the CLDN11 gene are linked to hypomyelinating leukoencephalopathy, making this reagent useful for studies of myelination, tight junction biogenesis, and male reproductive biology. The antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing comparative work across model systems and primary human tissue.

Validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, the reagent is applied to localize claudin-11 along compact myelin sheaths and at Sertoli cell contacts, and to track redistribution in cultured oligodendrocyte and testicular cell models. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots preserves binding activity through repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the unconjugated format allows direct conjugation to fluorophores, biotin, or HRP for tailored detection.
