Anti-Claudin-1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and purified by affinity chromatography, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is directed against Claudin-1, a tight-junction transmembrane protein widely used as an epithelial and intercellular-junction marker. The antibody is supplied as an unconjugated, liquid preparation at 1.0 mg/mL in a phosphate-buffered saline formulation (pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl) containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is offered in a 50 µl pack size. The immunogen is a synthesized peptide derived from human Claudin-1, and the reagent specifically detects endogenous levels of total Claudin-1 (also known by the aliases CLD1, CLDN1 and SEMP1/SEMP-1). Validated applications cover Western blotting and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse and rat samples, making it suitable for cross-species studies of epithelial barrier biology, tight-junction integrity and related signalling pathways. The product is shipped at 4 °C; upon arrival it should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity.
